Orthodox Jewish Family Gets Picture With Ashlee...
Before I had Roan I used to look at the moms and kids in Mall Play Areas and almost have a panic attack. “That is THE MOST depressing place to take your kids, in the world, I will NEVER do that. Don’t they have anywhere else more interesting to go?” This is probably because I grew up by the beach and not close to any indoor malls. At all. It was a foreign concept to me....

Finally. Geez!
I am currently in previews for the next Groundlings show. What this means is for 4 weeks we write a ton of sketches, some by ourselves, some paired up. Then we put them up on Tuesday nights for the director, hoping she likes something. Friday nights we perform what she chose (hopefully you get something in!) in front of an audience. We THEN see how it goes… and the whole process continues...

AWKWARD!
About a year or so ago Roan heard someone say the word “Awkward” and started saying it all the time himself. He did not know what it meant but it ALWAYS got a laugh being that he said it (just coincidentally) at just the right times. Like if it was particularly quiet… “AWWWWKWARD.” Or if I ran into another mom at his school who’se name I forgot.....

The (Idiocracy?) of Hope in Hollywood
After teaching the first improv class of the new session last week I left the classroom feeling oddly inspired. I drove out of my parking spot down a smelly alleyway off Melrose and onto La Brea where I breathed in that Hollywood air. I love the smell of Hollywood. (aside from the smelly alleyways where vagrants pee— oh Lord and sometimes poo, you can tell human poo from dog poo…...
